Signature Debit

Signature debit transactions work very much like credit card transactions. The difference being it that you are accessing your deposit account versus your credit account.

Signature debit purchases can also be performed using an ATM/debit card, but instead of using a PIN, the card holder signs a sales receipt to authorize the transaction. Signature debit is sometimes referred to as off-line debit, because the transaction occurs "off-line" meaning the funds are not deducted from your account in real-time. Instead, the funds are deducted from your account once the merchant's receipts are settled.
